Oldest Ski Resort in Bulgaria

       Borovets, known as Chamkoria until the mid 20th century, is the first mountain resort of its kind, in Bulgaria and on the entire Balkan range. Its origin dates back to 1896, when Kniaz Ferdinand – Bulgaria's monarch at the time, had his summer residence and several hunting lodges built there.

         Just ten minutes away from Borovets it is locared village of Raduil. For those looking to enrich their ski vacation with an immersive experience into Bulgarian rural life, our package offer the perfect blend. It includes an introduction to village life, exposure to the traditional folklore, music, dance, cooking, relaxation in hot springs and of course skiing!

Village of Raduil

       Located just an hour away from the Sofia Airport, the village of Raduil serves as a perfect base for this adventure, situated at the foothills of the Balkan's highest mauntain - Rila. Тhe village dates back to the 10th century, serving as the home of a military garrison for King Samuel. About 1,000 people live permanently, who keep Bulgarian traditions and customs alive. Around the village of Raduil there are 14 chapels and 1 monastery. There are 2 churches in the village, the old church dating back to the 10th century.

     The itinerary is thoughfully crafted to include visits to stunningnatural locals within the Rila mauntains - forests, rivers, lakes and natural landscapes. Guests will stay in one or two autentic guesthouses depending size of the group, offering ample opportunities to interact with local residents and experience the true essence of Bulgaria. Both houses are nestled on the outskirts of the quaint village of Raduil, and positioned beneath the towering Musala Peak, at the scenic confluence of the Maritsa and Ibar rivers. Our facilities are perfectly situated for hosting hiking and ski tours. The center is conviniently located at the villige's edge, just a hundred meters away from the river and in close proximity to expansive fields and lush forest. Raduil, a serene and vibrant village, deeply connected to the nature and brimming with authentic Bulgarian charm. It is situated marely 8 km from Borovets Ski Resort, one of Europe's premier ski resorts offering guests a blend of rural tranquility and picturesque landscapes.

Day 1 

Exploring Raduil and Ibar Canyon

• Morning: Introductory tour of Raduil, showcasing the confluence of the Maritsa and Ibar rivers, hidden chapels and the mysterious "Miracle of the Lady of the Robe" monastery. 

• Afternoon: Visit local artists and enjoy rakia or hot red wine near the fire. 

• Evening: Enjoy a traditional Bulgarian dinner in Raduil.

Day 2 

Ski in Borovets 

• Morning/Afternoon: Heading to Borovets with options for begginers and advanced skiers. Optional is visiting Black Rock sightseeing 

• Evening: Village dance group performance and Bulgarian dance lessons followed by dinner.

Day 3 

Ski in Borovets and hot springs

• Morning/Afternoon: Continue skiing in Borovets, Optional to visit hot springs in Dolna Banya afternoon. 

• Evening: Bulgarian dinner in Raduil.

• Morning: Skiing in Borovets

• Afternoon: Return to Raduil for 

• Evening: Dinner in Raduil with a performance by singing group from the village.

Day 5 

Seven Rila lakes

• Morning: Head to the Panichishte, and cable car ride. 

• Afternoon: Explore five of the Seven Rila Lakes in a circular route, each with unique energy and beauty 

• Evening: Return to Raduil for dinner.

Day 6

Iskar lake and Historical Samokov

• Morning: Visit Iskar Dam for swimming and boating

• Afternoon: Tour to historical town of Samokov, including museum house of Ben Arie, Historoical Museum and monasteries. Visit Tsali Mali Grad fortress

• Evening: Bulgarian dinner in Raduil.

Day 7

Rila Monastery and Sofia tour

• Morning: Visit Rila Monastery, Bulgaria's largest and most significant monastery, featuring art, wood carving and wall painting.

• Afternoon: Short city tour of Sofia, including historical and cultural sites.

• Evening: Conclusion of the tour

The itinerary is flexible and can be customized to cater to your preferences and requarements.

• Airport tranfer from and to the Sofia Airport
• Services of eperienced English speaking guide
• Transportation throughout the trip with minibus/minivan
• A folklore activity in the village
